Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations of Forsyth County (TRR of FC) Info

We are the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations of Forsyth County (TRR of FC). We seek to raise awareness about the legacy of unjust and inequitable experiences in our community which continue to contribute to  today’s obstacles for the thriving of all our residents.

The Freedom Tree at IDR, the Justice Collective, faith communities, non-profits, and others are engaged in this process of truth and reconciliation with a goal of reparation.

It is our vision to develop public interface events to tell the truth, develop and restore relationships, and make amends for the harm of inequity.

Over the past year, we have been producing podcast interviews with local community residents to capture the personal stories of impact of policies and practices which have created educational inequity; the destruction of local neighborhoods due to redevelopment, highway construction and slum clearance; as well as housing, health care, and economic disparities.
